Introduction to Practical Life
An In-Person Montessori Workshop

About the Course

Discover the heart of Montessori Practical Life in this engaging one-day workshop! Explore the core principles that guide the Practical Life curriculum, learn how the materials are thoughtfully scaffolded to meet children's developmental needs, and see how this intentional progression builds independence, concentration, and confidence. You'll gain an overview of the Practical Life area, including the purpose and design of the materials, their developmental benefits, and practical strategies for breaking lessons into manageable steps.

Designed to help assistant teachers confidently support the lead teacher and the prepared environment, this workshop also explores how to observe children's interests to select meaningful Practical Life activities. You'll leave with real-world classroom examples, practical tools, and strategies you can implement in your own classroom right away.
