SPEAKERS' BUREAU
Rooted in Montessori Philosophy. Focused on Adult Learning.

Wellan Institute, a division of Wellan Montessori School, is an adult education institute dedicated to nurturing educators and families through authentic, hands-on professional development.

Recognizing that on-site programs at Wellan may not work for everyone, we have developed a Speakers’ Bureau to bring engaging, practical workshops to your location.

We currently offer a range of workshops for different audiences:

Professional Development for Faculty and Staff at Montessori Schools, PreK-8 Schools, and Daycares (Continuing Education Credits available)

Finding local providers who can deliver impactful workshops for teachers at your school or daycare center can be challenging. We’re prepared to support area educators with interactive, meaningful professional development that inspires your hard-working faculty. Though our expertise is rooted in Montessori philosophy, we can flexibly offer training that works for other educational settings. All attendees will receive a Wellan Institute certificate of attendance. Continuing education credits (CEUs) are also available for attendees who successfully complete learning assessments for a workshop.

Examples of past workshops:

  • Teaching Emotional Self-Regulation

  • Observation and Documentation of Student Learning

  • Collaboration between Lead and Assistant Teachers

Parent Education for Schools, Daycare Centers, and Parent Groups

Offering parenting skills workshops and information sessions enhances families’ perception of the value they receive from enrolling children in your school or daycare. Let us help you support parent education on child development topics.

Examples of past workshops:

  • Montessori At Home: Practical Tips for Nurturing your Child’s Independence

  • Child Development: How Understanding Montessori Planes of Development Can Make Parenting Easier

  • Choosing Diverse Books for Your Child’s Home Library

Guest Speakers for University Courses and Job Training Program

College students benefit from presentations by guest speakers who can reinforce or expand their understanding of course content. Our instructors can not only offer insight to Education majors on how Montessori education differs from other teaching methodologies but can also share both theoretical and practical knowledge about child development with students in other majors. We can also create workshops for adults who are attending job training programs for positions working with children.

Examples of past workshops:

  • Montessori 101: An Overview with Q & A

  • Montessori Education: How It Differs, How to Become a Certified Montessori Teacher
