OUR POLICIES

CANCELLATION POLICY

In the event that there are fewer than three learners enrolled 10 days prior to the workshop, the course may be canceled. Learners who have enrolled will have all deposits, fees, and any tuition paid returned to them in full within one month of the date of cancellation.

ACADEMIC POLICY

Qualified Instructors

At the Wellan Institute, we recognize that qualified instructors are essential for upholding high educational standards and creating a positive learning atmosphere. We hire instructors based on their experience in teaching adults and their expertise in the workshop’s subject matter. While most of our instructors are educators at Wellan Montessori School, we occasionally bring in external experts. The Wellan Institute requires disclosure of any instructor’s proprietary interest in products, instruments, devices, or materials. All instructors sign a Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form, which is updated as needed.

Quality of Course Content

Wellan Institute ensures that all course content delivered at our institution maintains the highest standards of accuracy, relevance, and engagement, aligning with our educational objectives and student needs. Each content undergoes a rigorous review process, and is regularly revised and updated based on student feedback, assessment data, and advancements in the field. Instructors are encouraged to employ a variety of teaching methods and technologies to effectively deliver course content.

Confidentiality of Learner Records

Learner records are confidential and are made available only to the School administrative and teaching staff, as well as to the student. Their contents will be kept in a locked file cabinet and/or on a secure password-protected server and may not be released to any unauthorized person without written consent from the student.

Learner records contain a transcript with grades, commendations, test scores, formal academic comments, and letters involving any major discipline infractions. Confidential letters of recommendation, confidential records relating to a student’s potential practicum placement, and other confidential documents that may relate to a student are not part of a student’s record.  Learner records are updated as needed. They may request to have their file released to them at any time. Learners have the right to request the deletion or amendment of information in their file, as well as the right to add information and documentation. Any changes made to a learner record will ultimately be made at the sole discretion of the School after an opportunity for a student to meet with appropriate School staff regarding the request to delete or amend information included in a student record.
